While Sarah is no longer in active pursuit of creative art nor providing giclee prints of her work, here is an online gallery in memory of her time as a full time artist for 2 years. What a blessed time it was.

Thank you everyone .

"Underwater"
Underwater
(At the time recently discovering and continually experimenting with the effects of oil imitating watercolour drips, I paired the abstract nature of that with the realism that can be brought forward to focus as in traditional oil. Ultimately appearing as a long-standing favourite piece of mine. Done in 2021. )

Staying Connected
(One of my first new works in 2022 and the first digital study of the year. I called this piece Staying Connected on account of the wish at the time that this would be the year we would all come back together - metaphorically and down to the physical touch. Since then it’s received such kind feedback as to evoke a sense of nostalgia for some, while provoking the imagery of a blooming or fading romance for others…)

Princess Mononoke
(A little piece of me exists here, where I wanted to capture an ode to a childhood favourite. As an interpretation of their work, it was inspired by Agnes Cecil’s portrayal of the same. Honouring the growing prevalence of Studio Ghibli films in our western culture, it brings me so much joy to connect with an audience of this emblematic film.)

Enchante
(A study of a friend and muse, capturing what playfully appears to be the moment at a formal meeting in a bygone era or the beginning of a dance at another time in history. All in all, it was nice to meet you - I'm charmed.)

Enraptured
(One of my earliest pieces of paintings completed in 2020. It marked a small but big step for me at the time to allow my subject to interact with the background. Lending movement and immediacy to the piece, it has evoked tendencies of meditative qualities as well as yearning for some. It was a bittersweet joy to see the original go to its new forever home in Germany.)

Abstract Study
(As my first and only abstract study, I covet this piece as one of the first times I played around with thick, thick textures. Painted in early 2020, I was at a space to experiment delightfully between a handful of studies before ultimately landing on my ongoing muse of portraiture and figure work. Abstract for me is a space too vast to attempt, but remaining as the sole edition in this realm, it has continued to be a fan favourite since its conception. )

Field of Dreams
(During the height of summer season.. this is how we feel. As my third digital study from 2021, it was the first to make it to print. Long having wanted to feature more figure study in my work, it was also the rare occasion a gentleman made an appearance. Bearing thoughts of lazy Sunday’s, hazy afternoons and sun flashes in your eyes.)

Audrey Hepburn
(Depicting one of my all time favorite golden age Hollywood actresses,

'A remembered icon, “gamine, stylish, generous…” (Always Audrey, ACC Art Books)')

La Fille
(Inspired by Anh Wisle photography. A study of hands. And tattoos. This piece endures as one that continues to captivate since 2020. Holding such sensibilities within the imagery, it has lent itself to be an artifact of peacefulness and grounding beauty.)

Amber
(Texture work has long been a favourite aspect of experimenting with oil. Allowing the disillusion of exact realism, it was a fun study layering down thick strokes upon one another to render a woman of the promptest “laissez-faire” attitude we all covet. )

The Girl in the Yellow Dress
(Born of a midnight inspiration. This was the rare occasion for an artist where everything felt just right. Between her cheeky side glance and her enviable outfit, isn’t this how we’d all like to be, on a perfect Sunday afternoon? )

Tenderness
(Marking my first attempt at bleeding oil down to imitate the organic drippings of watercolour, it had long been a fascination of mine to relay the properties of some of my favourite artists and their works into my own. The painting was done on my first circle canvas, gifted by my sister over Christmas of 2020. An expansive piece that came together furiously within the span of several hours. Sometimes the paintings paint themselves. )

Green Lights
(It’s there in the title. I began digital studies in the summer of 2021 with the express interest of wanting to tackle elements in art that afforded me more discomfort than I could bear to attempt on canvas. So this piece was born. Raptly surprising myself with the possibilities of digital art. It remains one of my favorites from the Ipad.)

Images of Self
(Originating as a unique challenge to myself in depicting the fractured imagery of self, it has become its own sensation as an eccentric favourite. Generating some of the most compelling conversations, what do you see? )

Temptations
(In a follow up to the previous painting titled, “One Fine Morning”, this was painted to the effects of further curating a collection I hope to aim towards: tasteful boudoir.  Many women have connected with this piece overtime - whether that be already identifying with the energy in this piece, or aspiring towards it. Whatever the case may be, I’m happy to have captured the suggestive undertones of the sensuality of women here.)

The Kiss
(Referenced from the romantic sculpture of Yves Pires, also named, “The Kiss”, this seemed the perfect piece to dive into our inner romanticisms. Armed with the charms of old school grandeur, it seems there aren’t enough sincere spaces in our world today to lean into something more timeless, and slow…and everlasting. )

The Musician
(Followed by its accompaniment, “European Rivers”, this painting was where I first fell in love with the ability to render form with a palette knife. Revealing to myself as a new artist then in 2020, the regaling properties of oil and impressionistic values. Dreaming of somewhere nostalgic, softer and romantic. Where poetry live besides live music.)

Trailblazer
(Bringing together a water study with one of the most handsome animals in the animal kingdom. A stalwart symbol of staying steadfast in your lane, or perhaps making your mark ahead of the herd. )

The Golden Hour
(Done in Feb 2022, this presents another edition of my over arching love story with light studies. Combining the challenge with a full figure study as well, it’s a piece made of composure and warmth, or longing and want, depending on how you see it. )

European Rivers
(Originating from a sense of longing, this was the second piece to accompany the first painting, titled,“The Musician”. Marking my first painting done entirely with a palette knife to fully embrace the traditional sense of impressionistic values. Both paintings were completed at a time during the early lockdowns of 2020 where I could not have been the only one dreaming of a destination far, far away, full of idealized romance. )

Glow
(A study of a friend, and the first light study painting to have been done since, "Morning's Light" in 2020. Marking the translucent effects of the twilight zone and how ultimately timeless it leaves a picture. )

Flower Girl
(Despite popular opinion, this is in fact, not a self portrait. More behind the scenes thoughts has been shared for this piece through a weekly email sent to subscribers. To encapsulate, she was the forerunner of my small collection in 2021 to depict more Asian women in my work. Capturing a look of defiance and femininity, she has remained one of our all time favourites. )

Morning's Light
(My original light study painting from 2020. It has catalyzed many more golden light studies in its aftermath, but never in the form of another painting until recently in 2022. There is something irresistible about a shaft of dramatic light to captivate and guide our attention on a picture. Forever a muse. )

Flamingo's Party
(A symbol of many things, but no one can deny their unique quality. The striking distinction of pose, coloring and attitude was too much to resist a study on the canvas. Adding to our curated selection of animal studies. )

The Gilded Era
(As a nod to the first hyper-realism painting I did of Frida Kahlo in 2020, I wanted to see how far I could push the paints in 2022. The opulence of this classical baroque-esque painting seemed perfect to deliberate over the painstaking drama of traditional fine art. )

One Fine Morning
(As my first entry to what I hope to pursue more of, I wanted to lean into elements of tasteful boudoir with this piece. Lending a sense of movement with the paint stricken from her face, it spoke for a moment of uncontrived intimacy. )

Double Mirage
(As part of a small series completed in 2021, I was in want of portraying more Asian models in my portfolio. This piece represents another venture of experimenting with oil mediums and allowing the canvas to bleed through for effect. Leaving the audience arrested and perhaps questioning. )

Koi Fish
(The first of our foray into animal studies from 2020. This painting and its origin story was further detailed in one of our weekly emails to subscribers. In summary, it was the happiest of all accidents, resulting from the failed attempt of a similar piece,“Images of Self”. What came out of it was the haphazard channeling of our frustration to depicting a piece of zen. Captivating still. )

Frida Kahlo
(My first ever attempt at hyper realism, this was a challenge to myself to see how far I could push the paints in 2020 when I started painting. I credit much of the result in this piece to the blind curiosity I carried, where there were no expectations, only the happiest of surprises against myself in the end. )
